After his retirement, Dr. Rubin took the reigns and was responsible for initiating significant renovations and expansions. American Animal Hospital Association gave Mount Airy Animal Hospital its accreditation in 1988. Dr. William Slaymaker joined the hospital, and upon Dr. Rubin's retirement in1999, he bought the practice. Since then, it has seen the addition of the Cat Condo boarding facility and introduced new state-of-the-art technology and machinery. Dr. Crystal Lauderdale, Dr. Andrea Niggemeier, and Dr. Brian Orr compliment the veterinarian team.
